My trio of doves have been trying unsuccessfully to hatch eggs since they were about 5 months old. They are now 10 months old and have hatched their first chick.

It will be interesting to see what the baby looks like, since both males are cinnamon and the hen is a cinnamon pied.

You'd not believe the cage was cleaned Friday.

Not my favortie mix, but my silky dove died.

No sibling. The egg looked like it was fertile, but never hatched, she did lay another egg though. Baby has all his feathers in now and looks like his mama. Nice and speckled. I bought them some red wigglers to feed the baby and he loves them. He's still in his nest and is finding his wings, tomorrow I'm going to start to train him to the perch.

Last night they spent the night inside because a pit bull followed the kids home and decided the birds and guinea pigs looked like a nice after dinner snack.

The little guy has gotten almost all of his feathers. He perched for the first time today :)

You can see there are now three eggs which he is competing for space with. I wish I could have cleaned the bowl before they laid some more eggs
