In my squirm bin (https://thegardenforums.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=24557 I discovered the worms were only on the very sides of the bin. I put a thermometer in the center and the temperature was 104F. Yikes. Somehow between the food I've added and the worms, the little bin is heating up.
(flashback: remembering years ago I mixed coffee grounds into a new bin bedding and shortly after adding the worms, the bin heated to 120F and before I knew what was happening, the worms became part of the process!!!)
I pulled the bedding away from the center and piled up on the sides to open up to cool down. By the next morning, the temp was back down to 75F.
