 Post subject: Winter rye cover crop

I tilled and planted winter rye in my 50x50 (2500 sq. ft.) vegetable garden. I seeded 10#'s but the stand looks a little thin. Maybe I should have planted more?

Have you done this before. I did last winter seemed like it stayed moist and was hard to till in

Yes I've done it before...best to cut the grass before tilling.
