Yesterday & today warmest this year, got me all pumped up & was outside tinkering in the GH & compost all day. Was just in a "T" shirt till the wind picked up then just a sweat shirt. Felt great to be outside in the sun:).
Almost garden time in Alaska with water running everywhere due to all the snow melting yesterday & today. (today - sunny & 50 deg F & 14 hours of daylight)
Well in a month or so we can plant.
Compost piles starting to thaw enough to get a few yards shifted.
Got lettuce (4 kinds), broccoli, pansies & spinach coming up in pots in the GH.
Still freezes at night but by 11 AM it's melting again.

Just having fun in the sun & felt like telling somebody, Obama was busy so "you all" were my 2nd choice.

Feels good, doesn't it? We had a sunny weekend too and it was enjoyed by people and critters. I had the pleasure of seeing bald eagles soaring in the skies, enjoying the nice day. 2 flew by along the edge of our property, only about 50', so that was my treat of the day. They make the hawks looks small. I won't tell you how warm it got, though. I don't want to make you feel bad. We're back down to the 50s and rainy for several days now.

I have lettuce growing in a pot outside and I set my broccoli starts out on the porch. No sense in keeping them under lights now that it's not getting so cold out.

Now I'm nursing stiff muscles from doing too much over the weekend. I never learn!!

Enjoy the thaw!

Yes it does feel good to get outside, sore muscles or not. I'll probably go back out today, even with it being wet and cool out now.

I use arnica cream on my stiff muscles and it helps with the healing. We also have a far infrared sauna that helps a lot. It's cheaper than a hot tub and less maintenance.
