 Post subject: Clematis recta 'Purpurea'

Not all of the plants labeled recta 'Purpurea' have good deep color. This is my second plant which is a huge improvement over the first which is pale in comparison.

Lovely color there Carol. Doesn't the foliage tend to green out as it ages? It would be great if it stayed that color all summer long.

I agree it would be a great improvement if the foliage remained dark all season. This is the first plant I purchased and not nearly as attractive :
