My wife's trying to get me to remove the weeds from between patio slabs. Sure it needs doing but there are problems. For one thing, I've also got a couple of rockeries with mostly succulents in them that also sorely need weeding but for some reason my wife doesn't seem to see that as such a big issue. I've recently developed back ache that limits the amount of physical stuff I can do. It keeps raining so I can't use weedkillers (well I can but they don't work). Then I have a bunch of other things I'd rather use my time and energy on.

Does anybody have any good ideas of how to get rid of weeds without too much hard work or waiting for a spell of dry weather :?:

If I gotta do a lot of weeding sometimes the opposite of dry works for me, soak the ground very deeply and weeds tend to pull out more easily.

Sure. A flame gun. They make them with a long wand, saves bending over. A quick swipe with a flame and they're gone, not instantly, but fast enough.

salt the area to not only kill the weeds but to keep them from growing again.

Won't the salt leach to planted areas? How far an area? What kind of salt, melting ice salt OK?

I would spray with Round-upĀ®. It says it'll work when there is no rain within the next 24 hours.
