Hello all,
Last year I noticed a new plant growing on the side of my house. It was a single stalk with "feathery" branches extending the entire length of the plant that look almost like dill. It was very fast growing and was almost 7 feet tall by the time I cut it down. Soon after, I had one growing in my garden, which I cut, but did not uproot. This year it has come back, but is now several stalks. With the multiple stalks, I kind of like it in my garden, but would like to know what it is. Here are links to pictures of it in my garden (which needs some work right now...)

I've been thinking that it may be a species of asparagus, but I'm not sure that it is.

Thanks for any info!

Steve

Not sure if you're still looking for an answer, but I think what you have is dog fennel, Eupatorium capillifolium. It's a perennial weed (though I think it looks cool enough to grow in the garden) that's found mostly in the south east. Might want to watch out and see if it seeds around before you become too attached to it!

I've seen this plant before but I still don't know what it's called. :(
