I planted this broccoli last March, as in March '09. It produced all summer (even through the heat), then I let it go to seed over the winter to stock up on seed, you can see the pods in the photo. Now the plants are starting to send up new growth. It makes me wonder if I could just prune them back a few times a year and have everbearing perennial broccoli bushes.
Granted, it is a funny looking broccoli. More like clusters of broccoli flavored 1/8" cabbages. Piracicaba is my most highly recommended 'weird' vegetable.
