We got lucky in that a few inches of sleet fell after the ice and then about 6-8 inches of snow so the roads aren't as bad as they could have been.

That's good. Iced up roads are terrible. We once had a frozen interstate for 100 + miles and it took us over 4 hours to reach our destination, whereas normally it would've taken 1 1/2-2 hours. It was nice to see more of the countryside on that trip, so it wasn't all bad. :D
