They are not difficult to grow but seldom met in our gardens. No idea why ?

They were very easy to grow when I first met them, in western Washington state. I haven't even tried them here as I understand they won't put up with our heat and humidity. Nights that don't get below about 80F for months is not friendly for a lot of plants I love! So glad you posted them tho'--don't know why more people don't grow them either! Love blue flowers, and those are more blue and more gorgeous than most!

I love it. Lack of information about how to grow them is a big problem. Or more accurately, lots of misinformation on what they need. I didn't grow them for many years because all the labels say "requires a moist acid soil" and it turns out that many (a majority?) of Gentians require nothing of the sort. I still find them temperamental though, I'll let you know when I master them :)

thank you for sharing it with us!! i'm going to have to do some research on this one...it would make a nice addition to my yard!
