Do any of you use clear plastic to cook off weeds and heat up the soil? If so, what do you use?

You can get green house plastic by the yard so you can use it multiple seasons - good for 7 years even when out all summer.

I could use it later to keep plants warm or warm the soil early.

I tried clear plastic, it didn't work very well, the weeds just grew under the plastic.
Now I use 'black' instead. Works really well, kills everything. The seeds sprout, but without light they just fail to grow. So no weeding for me during the growing season.
It's also good against the larger bugs. I suffered for years with potato beetles, didn't matter what I tried they just kept coming. Since covering the area with 'black plastic', weighting it down and leaving it on for a few months, no bugs, no weeds.
