And here is an older pic more from the side to show that the petals seem to be just a mere enlarged continuation of the scales covering the ovary and flower. Attachment:

It is "normal" to shoot out of focus after being all night waiting for pollinators

Magnus, You are right. Lumpers call it now Pachycereus gaumeri. That plant is about 1 m tall. But plants at 30 cm flowered already. All are rooted cuttings and though I tried hard to find other clones (and years ago I got some cuttings from DBG in Phoenix, AZ) they all seem to be the same clone. They don't set seeds Jordi
