<  Cacti & Succulents  ~  What a Waste ...

... of beauty and nectar. No pollinator has been attracted by the great offerings of this night flowering Pterocereus gaumeri till 6:15 am at least. :cry: (unfortunately out of focus)

But indeed Rhonda I am impressed that you remembered this guy. :D
And here is an older pic more from the side to show that the petals seem to be just a mere enlarged continuation of the scales covering the ovary and flower.

It is "normal" to shoot out of focus after being all night waiting for pollinators :D :D

You are right. Lumpers call it now Pachycereus gaumeri.
That plant is about 1 m tall. But plants at 30 cm flowered already. All are rooted cuttings and though I tried hard to find other clones (and years ago I got some cuttings from DBG in Phoenix, AZ) they all seem to be the same clone. They don't set seeds :cry:
